 Full FMB gig Drumcam!

Ahoy everyone! Daaaamn… It’s been almost two years since the last time we stood on stage as GNIDA. I guess, it’d be appropriate to get you into some details concerning this unusual project. Why is it so special? What’s so extraordinary about it? Why even bother listening to/attending a gig of another unknown band? Well. I’m just about to answer all those questions:)
Here’s some background info. The band was founded by me and Sirius (voc. in Thy Disease) during Beware of your Neck Tour where I was a session live drummer for Crionics whereas Sirius’ duty was to sell the tickets and merchandise. It was a 30-days-long tour around Central and Eastern Europe, encompassing many countries, such as: Czech Republic, Slovakia, Lithuania, Latvia, Estonia, Russia, Belarus, Ukraine, Moldova, and – certainly – Poland. Anyway, the idea of the project was conceived somewhat naturally, during one of the looong discussions about music, we came up with the notion of a ridiculously perfect band, that would play radically extreme music in miniature form (songs should be about 1 minute long each), with fairly casual look, dirty sound, extreme speed, sharpness, heaviness and all that can be encompassed within the term: BRUTALITY. The name GNIDA (eng. nit) was the first and last pick we made. Innitially there were 2 more guys involved yet none of them had had any real input into what happened afterwards. So we proceeded as a duo. Soon after we started making our music. I was responsible for the instrumental layer, whereas Sirius did the lyrical part of it. So we came up with our first LP. Well, 15minutes of music may be hard to classify as a full-lenght album but… Fuck it! It’s GNIDA for fuck’s sake ;). The album ‘S.Y.F‘ (Sturdy Yawping Faeces) was 15 minutes long, contained 15 songs, sounded, looked and worked exactly the way we planned. It was fast, groovy, heavy, dirty – simply BRUTAL as FUCK! You can check out the Discography bracket for the picture of the cover art. It’s cool 🙂 All in all, we started getting more and more invitations for live shows. With a CD out, concerts were the only thing we were missing. Almost… We couldn’t perform as a duet, therefore JP II (guit) and B XVI (bass) joined the band. Soon after that we were fully ready to strike!
In May 2013 we played our first mini-tour (3 gigs) and one more little show. It was 4 in total. Yet gig nr. 5 was a real break through moment for us! Wacken Open Air! Damn huge experience, massive stage, shitload of people, great reception… There was no end to the joy we felt that time 🙂 Later that year we managed to play a 10-days-long tour along with Hate which was also a success. After that our ways had to split due to my change of dwelling place. I moved abroad, the band with 1 LP out and 15 played concerts had to be put on stand-by.
Now, as almost 2 years have passed, the successor of ‘S.Y.F.’, named ‘A.I.D.S.’ is almost ready. There are some drum play-throughs of some of the songs from the new albums. There has been also a video clip released:

I guess it’s enough about the band’s background :). The conclusion is, we’re now ready to promote the new release.

‘A.I.D.S.’ is even faster, heavier, more extreme, more groovy, simply – more brutal than our former release. It’s a huge challenge to play those pieces live. Which is GOOD!

Now, to answer the questions posed at the very beginning of the present entry, the special thing I personally find attractive in GNIDA is we’re bunch of dudes who simply LOVE the music we play, we LIVE to do it, we do it the best way possible and with no particular pressure whatsoever. Our shows are energetic, the sound is massive, we play our own style, faster and more extreme than on the albums and we do not give a flying fuck about being ‘true’ or bullshit like that. It’s a simple set-up: get on stage, enjoy killing, say goodbye…

The video below is a raw GoPro footage from Festiwal Mocnych Brzmień we attended on 22.08.2015. My form is about 60% here but you can still get the idea… CHECK IT OUT! 🙂

To sum up, more dates are being confirmed at the moment. We hope to see you somewhere in the near future!

Hell yeah! \m/
